EPDM rubber is characterized by an unequally good ability to reverse deformations that occur under the influence of mechanical forces. As a consequence, deformation occurs without a change in material continuity. This property is maintained even at temperatures as high as 110°C. Moreover, EPDM rubber remains flexible even at a temperature of 40°C below zero.
Due to its special additives, EPDM rubber has self-extinguishing properties and is used in the manufacture of many components for railway vehicle construction.
Due to its multiple properties, ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber finds use in many industries. In the automotive industry, it is used for the production of window and door seals, automation elements and spacers, cable sheaths, and coverings of internal and external surfaces. Moreover, it is used in the production of tyres, inner tubes, door buffers, and many other structural components.
