Polycarbonate is characterized by high resistance to mechanical damage and extraordinary durability. Due to these properties, opal polycarbonate sheets are used as a tough and safe replacement for glass, mainly in light shields and light diffusers in railway vehicles. Transparency of 30%-50% for thickness up to 3mm.
