Polyethylene (PE) is an engineering plastic made from the polymerization of ethylene monomer. It is characterized by low density, good resistance to chemicals, low moisture absorption, and good electrical insulation properties.
Polyethylene finds application in various industries, such as the chemical industry, the food industry, and transport. Moreover, a wide range of colours and formats makes PE an attractive engineering plastic.
PE-HD (PE 300)
Properties: chemical resistance, weldable, machinability, light weight, physiologically inert, good insulator, very low water absorption
Application: chemical-resistant floor coverings, tanks, food industry
PE-HMW (PE 500)
Properties: chemical resistance, abrasion resistance, easy machinability, light weight, physiologically inert, good insulator, good sliding properties
Application: chemical-resistant floor coverings, slides, food industry
PE-UHMW (PE 1000)
Properties: chemical resistance, machinability, abrasion resistance, high impact strength, physiologically inert, good insulator, very good sliding and friction properties, ductile even at low temperatures
Application: slide rails, guides, machine and device components, tanks
