They are especially used as electrical insulation, in workstation security, and in the production of seals, spacers, grippers, vibration reducers, and conveyors. There are different types of rubber materials that are available on the market, such as rubber that is resistant to petroleum-derived substances, acids and alkalis, antistatic rubbers, rubbers resistant to temperature, UV radiation, and other external factors. Rubbers are available in many different degrees of hardness according to the Shore scale, from the hardest solid and porous rubbers to the softest neoprene and EPDM rubber. Rubber is characterized by high mechanical strength and flexibility.
